Our partners: a research network rooted in Rome

We collaborate with laboratories that share our passion for orientation, memory, virtual reality and the social mind — a network as connected as the roads that once led to Rome.

00Rome · how it starts

How a collaboration starts

Every partnership begins with a question about orientation: a route people cannot learn, a mental map that no longer matches the city, a wayfinding failure observed in the streets of Rome. We agree on the protocol before collecting a single measure.

  1. 01

    Question

A shared research question on spatial cognition, navigation or disorientation.

  2. 02

    Protocol

Tasks, measures and analysis agreed in advance; open data wherever possible.

  3. 03

    Results

Joint publications, shared datasets and doctoral co-supervision.

What we build together

  1. 01

    Clinical assessment

Topographical disorientation after brain injury and developmental disorientation.

  2. 02

    Virtual environments

VR mazes and city models to measure route and survey learning.

  3. 03

    Individual differences

Imagery, gender, age and strategy in spatial cognition.

  4. 04

    Methods & data

Shared tasks, open protocols and computational tools.
